About the Journal

The Macedonian Journal of Anaesthesia (MJA) is the official scientific journal of the Macedonian Society of Anaesthesia and the Macedonian Society of Critical Care Medicine. The journal is dedicated to the dissemination of high-quality scientific knowledge and clinical experience in the fields of anaesthesiology, reanimation, intensive care medicine, pain management, and related medical disciplines.

The journal aims to promote scientific advancement, clinical innovation, and evidence-based practice by publishing original research, review articles, case reports, and case series, as well as selected professional and informational contributions relevant to the field.

MJA operates under an open-access publishing model. All articles are freely available online immediately upon publication without subscription or access fees. The journal applies the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the source.

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive their articles. All published content is clearly marked with copyright and licensing information in both HTML and PDF formats.

TheĀ Macedonian Journal of Anaesthesia is a Crossref member and registers Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for all published articles through Crossref. Article metadata are deposited with Crossref to support persistent identification, citation linking, and long-term discoverability.

The journal follows strict ethical publishing standards based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and other international editorial guidelines. All submissions are subject to editorial screening and double-blind peer review where applicable.

The Macedonian Journal of Anaesthesia is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation of its content through regular backups, institutional archiving, and deposit in the National and University Library repository. Efforts are made to ensure continued accessibility of published material for the scientific community.

The journal does not charge readers for access. Article processing charges (APC) apply only after manuscript acceptance and are used to support editorial and publication processes. APC has no influence on editorial decisions.

The journal ensures editorial independence and maintains a strict separation between editorial decisions and any advertising or promotional activities. Any advertisements, if present, are clearly distinguished from editorial content and are subject to editorial approval.
